Mission & Activities
The AFC Growth Fund is a national school choice leader, investing in states with the greatest potential for enacting or expanding high-quality, accountable school choice programs. We provide policy and program expertise, implementation strategies and guidance, promote and defend school choice programs, and build local infrastructure for long-term growth, impact, and sustainability. In collaboration with national and state allies, we work to create opportunities for systemic and sustainable educational reform that puts parents in charge, gives low-income families expanded opportunities, and improves educational outcomes for participating children.
To improve our nation’s K-12 education by advancing systemic and sustainable public policy that empowers parents, particularly those in low-income families, to choose the education they determine is best for their children.
State + national activities
The Alliance’s unique core know-how can be defined as follows:
- Strategic Management: Provide policy/program expertise, guidance, and financial support to state and local allies to enact, defend, and sustain high-quality and accountable school choice programs.
- Implementation: Work closely with allies on the critical implementation process to ensure program quality and maximum participation, lay the groundwork for progressing to a larger scale, and mobilize parents to enroll in and embrace school choice programs.
- Communications: Educate and inform policy makers and shape public opinion on the urgent need for, and success of, school choice programs through award-winning publications, social media, in-state trainings, and aggressive media relations.
- Leadership Development: To ensure program sustainability, we have initiated Leadership Development projects in key states, which are designed to identify and cultivate local leaders who are committed to helping build capacity for years to come.
